The third and final part of the Amersham Society’s River Misbourne Project was launched just before Christmas. It takes the form of guidance for a riverside walk along the Misbourne in and around Amersham, starting from the Society’s Church Mead Information Panel.
The total length of the walk is slightly over 8 km (5 miles) but is conveniently split into two halves – east towards Quarrendon Mill and west towards Shardeloes. If you would like to try it on Boxing Day, please be warned that, after wet weather, both routes can be muddy in places but sometimes the eastern route can be flooded at the point where you change direction and head back towards Amersham, so you may need to return on the outward route.
