On 20 Aug 2020 HS2 revealed the proposed designs for the Amersham Ventilation Shaft and Headhouse. The shaft is one of five structures that will be built to provide ventilation and emergency access to the high-speed rail line’s 10 mile-long Chiltern tunnel.
This summer from 5 Jul 2020, the NHS’s 72nd Birthday, the Aircraft Restoration Company‘s Spitfire has been flying over a number of NHS hospitals across the UK. On 1 Aug 2020 at 4pm the flypast will take place over Amersham Hospital in the Old Town.

On 29 May the River Chess Association reported that the water in some areas of Shardeloes Lake on the River Misbourne had temporarily turned from “clear to milky” – see photos on their Facebook post.
Amersham Town Council have informed us that Serco have agreed to undertake a deep clean of the High Street on Mon 22 Jun between 7 and 9am. This is really good news and we thank both ATC and Serco for listening to the residents and businesses.
