We have received the following update from the Buckinghamshire County Council HS2 team:

This E-update looks at the upcoming HS2 Select Committee hearings and recent announcements from HS2 on Wendover and the design panel.
Select Committee schedule
The Select Committee has published its schedule up until 3 December 2015 which can be found at http://www.parliament.uk/documents/commons-committees/hs2/Programme/2015-16/11.11.15_Programme_Nov_Dec.pdf. This week has included the hearings of Wycombe District Council, Aylesbury Town Council, Coldharbour Parish Council, Stoke Mandeville Parish Council as well as residents from across Buckinghamshire. Next week (week of 23 November) includes hearings from the Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Oxfordshire Wildlife Trusts (BBOWT) and the Rt Hon David Lidington MP (4.30, 25 November).
From the 30 November the hearings will focus on the Euston area of London with hearings from the London Borough of Camden scheduled for the 1, 2 and 3 December 2015.
Evidence from Buckinghamshire County Council’s appearance

Wendover
The HS2Ltd Director of Hybrid Bill Delivery, Roger Hargreaves, has written to the Chair of the Select Committee (Robert Syms), with regard to changes to the proposed scheme in Wendover. The package being promoted by HS2 Ltd includes a 100m southern green tunnel extension and enhanced mitigation. The full details of these changes will be included within Additional Provisions 5, which is expected in December. As with other Additional Provisions there will be the opportunity to petition against these changes. HS2 Independent Design Panel
HS2 Ltd has announced an independent design panel that will support the project in applying design principles to the scheme. The panel will be chaired by Sadie Morgan, who stated that “the British creative and engineering industry is already delivering outstanding examples of design excellence around the world. HS2 is a huge opportunity to bring that brilliance home.” The panel includes Martin Knight, who designed the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, and whose offices are in Buckinghamshire. Response to the Residents’ Commissioners Report November 2015
In September 2015 the Residents Commissioner (Deborah Fazan) published the second Commissioner report which can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/464259/HS2_Residents_commissioner_report2__September_2015.pdf. This included recommendations for increased community engagement and a concern about the lack of communication on the property schemes that are currently available.
Sir David Higgins, Chairman of HS2 Ltd has responded to the report and acknowledged that ‘HS2 can do more to communicate the property compensation schemes effectively’. Buckinghamshire Compensation and Mitigation Panel (BCMP)
The next meeting of the BCMP will be held on the 1 December 2015 from 3-5pm. The venue for this has been communicated to members. Agenda to follow shortly.
Each CFA area has a community representative on the panel who should be feeding back discussions had at the BCMP. If you would like to know who your representative is or you are not receiving feedback from these meetings, it is important that you let us know. Local County Councillors are also invited.
