House of Lords Petitioning
A petitioning guide kit has now been published at http://www.parliament.uk/documents/Lords-HS2/House-of-Lords-HS2-petitioning-kit-guide.pdf along with frequently asked questions on the Hybrid bill at http://www.parliament.uk/business/bills-and-legislation/current-bills/hybrid-bills/hybrid-bills-faqs/.
House of Lords Petitioning period
The Third Reading of the Bill took place on 23 March where MPs voted by 399 to 42 in favour of the project proceeding.
The Third Reading in the House of Commons was followed by the First Reading in the House of Lords; the Second Reading will be held on 14 April. The period for petitioning has now begun and petitioning closes at 5pm on 18 April.
Hillingdon Outdoor Activity Centre (HOAC)
For those residents living in the vicinity of HOAC, HS2 Ltd and the Centre are holding information consultation days to explain their plans for a potential relocation to New Denham Quarry. The first meeting was held on the 19 March, and the second event is on 9 April at Denham Community Centre, from 11am-3pm. HS2 Information Event – Denham
HS2 Ltd has arranged an event as an opportunity for local residents to find out more about the project and what it means for their local area. You will be able to talk to their experts about engineering, construction, property, the environment and more, see maps and plans of the project near you and ask questions and explore the proposals in more detail.
The event is being held on Saturday 16 April 2016, 11am-4pm, at Denham Village Memorial Hall,

Community events
The Councils have organised dates for four events in April to share our House of Lords petitioning matters with the public and to update on the HS2 process as a whole. This is also an opportunity to reflect on the House of Commons petition period and assurances received by the Councils.

Due to the size of the venues the places available at these events will be limited and will be on a first
come first served basis. Please email HS2Blueprint@buckscc.gov.uk to reserve your place. Please
ensure you specify which event you are interested in attending. If any of these events are
significantly oversubscribed we will try to arrange a further meeting.
In order to make these meetings as useful as possible if you have any particular questions or topic
areas that you would like discussed please let us know. Due to the timescale being imposed a
number of the meetings will be after the end of the petitioning period and we will have already
submitted our petition by then.
We hope to be able to share our draft petition in the next e-update. In the meantime, please let us
know if you have issues that you would like raised. It is important that our petition reflects
community concerns.
Buckinghamshire County Council HS2 Summit
The County Council held an HS2 Summit on 24 March 2016 from (9.30 to 12.30) at Green Park, Aston Clinton, HP22 5NE. The meeting was well attended by over 100 people.
