Representatives of the Chalfonts and Amersham Community Forum (CFA8), including action groups,
representatives of the community, local elected councilors and private individuals have prepared a response to the Environmental Statement and Associated Documents from HS2 Ltd. It's a lengthy document but you can see it here http://www.hs2amersham.org.uk/Resources/ES/CFA8_Vn1.1.pdf This may form a useful starting point if you want to formulate your own response but be warned that the consultation closes on Thursday 27th February. It's available both as a pdf and also as a word document, the latter being useful if you want to cut and paste your own response. See http://www.hs2amersham.org.uk/
Buckinghamshire County Council, with support from the District Councils, will be hosting a number of petitioning workshops to assist those who may be affected by the HS2 proposals. The one for Amersham is to be on 13th March, 6pm at Amersham Community Centre, Chiltern Avenue, Amersham, HP6 5AH. The workshop will begin with a short presentation going over the petitioning process, followed by a more ‘hands-on’ session making use of templates and previous petitions. During the second part of the workshop, we will split into smaller groups and assist people who wish to produce a draft petition. This will include linking petitions to clauses in the Bill, and increasing the chance of being granted locus standi. The workshops have been designed to be useful for both people with limited knowledge of the hybrid bill petitioning as well as those who have slightly more knowledge of the process. Each workshop will be open to a limited number of people, therefore places must be booked by emailing us at hs2blueprint@buckscc.gov.uk (To help us, please put Petitioning Workshops in the subject of the email).
Supporters of the HS2 campaing may also be interested in the fund-raising event on Saturday 5th April. It will give you an opportunity to see the inside of Amersham Town Council's new offices in Flint Barn Court in Church Street. For more details, click on the Events tab.
