Local historian Neil Rees returns to the Society to continue on the subject of high-profile exiles in England during WW2. This time he will tell us the story of the Albanian ruling family.
King Zog and his family were driven out of Albania by the Italians in 1939. They first fled to France, but had to escape again when Hitler’s forces invaded it 1940. From 1941 to 1946 they spent time in England, including residing at Parmoor House near Frieth in Bucks.
The talk is based on Neil’s book “A Royal Exile: King Zog and Queen Geraldine, Including Their Wartime Exile in the Thames Valley and Chilterns”.
Doors open at 7.30pm and the talk will start at 8.00pm. No booking necessary. Guests and new members welcome.
